What kind of Internet connection do I need? Your Portus Home system needs a broadband Internet connection from a DSL or cable provider. |

Do I need a separate router or wireless access point? No. Unlike other solutions on the market, you do not need a separate router or wireless access point. Your Portus Home gateway is a fully integrated wireless broadband gateway, which connects directly to your existing DSL or cable modem. The Portus Home gateway integrates a Wi-Fi access point, router, firewall, and 4 port switch. You can use your Portus Home gateway for all your home networking requirements. |

Will I need to install special software? No special software is required. The user interface of your Portus Home system is completely browser based. No matter where you are, you can access and control your Portus Home system completely through an Internet browser or compatible web-enabled mobile phone. |

Do I need to pre-wire my house to use Portus Home? Portus Home is 100% wireless so no pre-wiring of your home is required. |

Is a subscription to the Portus Home service required? In order to use your Portus Home system, you need to subscribe to the Portus Home service. This can be on a month by month basis or you can purchase an annual subscription at a discount. |

Do I need a computer to run my Portus Home system? The Portus Home solution is completely self contained and doesn't need a computer to operate. All you need is your Portus Home gateway, a broadband Internet connection, and your choice of devices to begin using your Portus Home system. To access your Portus Home system, you can use any device that has a web browser, including touch panels, computers, PDAs and compatible web-enabled mobile phones. |

What cameras can I use with my Portus Home system? You must use the cameras that are available for purchase through the Portus Home website and that have been certified for use with the Portus Home system. |

How do I connect my Portus Home cameras? Portus Home cameras are wireless IP cameras and connect directly to the Portus Home gateway via Wi-Fi. You don't need a separate wireless access point or router to connect your Portus Home cameras. |

How secure is my Portus Home system? Portus Home integrates layers upon layers of security to protect your system and your privacy. Not only does the Portus Home gateway integrate robust firewall technology, but all communications occur over encrypted links. Only fully authenticated users can access the Portus Home system remotely. Portus remote access servers are located in secure hosting facilities and subject to third-party security audits to ensure your information remains safe at all times. |

Does Portus Home work with my existing security system? Your Portus Home system includes a self monitored home security application that works separately from your existing security system, providing a real-time view of what's happening with your home and family, from wherever you are, giving you the ability to monitor any situation and take whatever action is required. |

Can Portus Home control my existing home heating and cooling systems? Portus Home thermostats will control any 24VAC single-stage heating and cooling systems. |
